This decorative pool is outlined with adinkra symbol paving. In its center is a sculpted porcupine standing on an Asante stool.The porcupine (kotoko) served as the Asante state's symbol, associating its quills to the nation's powerful military, as in the proverb "Wokum apem a, apem be ba" or "If you kill a thousand, a thousand more appear."
